Awards Judging Process

Stage 1


- Entries will be judged by the Award sponsor (Primary Judge) alongside a  Doncaster Chamber representative (Secondary Judge). The Doncaster Chamber representative is there to support, discuss, challenge and ensure a fair outcome.

- Your awards entry(s) will be reviewed by the Primary Judge, along with the Secondary Judge after the 30th September deadline. At this point the judges will score all written submissions against the entry criteria to identify a shortlist of finalists.

- The top scoring submissions will be shortlisted as finalists; up to a maximum of 6 finalists (at the judges' discretion) per category.

- Awards Finalists will be announced w/c 17th October via email and Doncaster Chamber's website.


Stage 2


Awards Finalists will be contacted to arrange a suitable time for both judges to visit their business; these visits will take place w/c 24th October.

Visit from the judges:
You will have approximately one hour to present your business to the judges and explain/evidence why you deserve to win the award.

To prepare for this you should:
- Deliver a presentation (mix of visual, written and audio).  The presentation should last approximately 40 minutes.

- The remaining 20 minutes is time allocated to answering any questions that the judges may ask.

- Ensure that you are well prepared for this meeting by collating any information you feel is relevant for the visit prior to the judge's arrival.

- The judges will ask you to provide supporting evidence relevant to the information provided in your awards entry. Please ensure that you have this information to hand.

- Entrants may be requested to supply customer details to enable Doncaster Chamber to gather testimonials.  Judges reserve the right to visit these customers if applicable to the Award category.

- Judges will visit only once and further meetings are prohibited.


Stage 3


- Award Winners will be announced at Doncaster's Business Awards on the 15th December 2011.Judges reserve the right to seek expert advice and discuss entries, if required.

- The judge's decision is last and final.

- Unsuccessful finalists will be provided with written feedback from the judges w/c 9th January 2012.
