Innovation Award

This award went to the organisation that had demonstrated excellence in innovation to develop their business.

The award was presented to Hilltop Surfacing Contractors.

Hilltop Surfacing was established in 2004, after Rachael and Stephen Brookes identified a need for a professional surfacing and civils company that could offer a one-stop-shop solution.

Hilltop's products and services range from tarmac and block paving through to play surfacing, garden design, skip and plant hire and driveway solutions. Their clients include; Henry Boot Construction, Skanska, Christian Salvesen, Marshalls just to name a few and they operate in both commercial and domestic markets.

Judging the award, Sheila Quairney of Sheffield Hallam University, said: "Hilltop Surfacing demonstrated measurable and consistent success and growth year-on-year due to their highly innovative approach. They have a very strong vision for the company and an ability to think out of the box and challenge stereotypes in what is a very traditional industry sector. Their constant search for diversification within the core business really impressed the judges and they are worthy winners of this award.
