Judging the award, Julie Bowler and Andy Cantrill of HSBC, said: "We were very impressed with the calibre of finalists this year and it was a very close decision. GL Filtration has profitably grown their turnover in the last four years, reinvesting profits into developing the business and establishing their position in the global market.

This company has successfully set up a UK manufacturing base, creating engineering jobs in the local area and has invested in developing engineering skills for the future.

GL Filtration exports over 95% of their products to Europe, USA and Asia, competing directly with Indian suppliers and successfully winning orders to supply UK manufactured products to India."
