Outstanding Contribution to the Doncaster Economy Award

This award went to the organisation that had best demonstrated an outstanding contribution to the economy of Doncaster through attracting wealth into the Borough, which has had a subsequent influence on the lives of Doncaster residents.

The award was presented to Doncaster Rovers Football Club.

Judging the award, Peter Davies - The Mayor of Doncaster, said: "As Mayor I have made the economy the number one driver of Doncaster's regeneration. I believe that through sensible, business-led policy, we can make Doncaster the best in the North of England to work, live and play in.

The award winning company, Doncaster Rovers, has had a huge benefit to the profile of Doncaster and also contributed to our economic wealth. The business model of this company is one that I would like other businesses to strive towards."
