When you extend your property or carry out small building projects, you will need detailed mapping of your property or site to submit to the planning authorities for planning permission. This can be confusing for customers as the maps can be referred to in a number of different ways. OS Sitemap is the single product that covers all of these variations and is, as a result, accepted by every local authority in the country.

OS Sitemap offers A4 or A3, address-centred extracts of large-scale map data (1:2500/ 1:1250/ 1:500) showing the limits of your building/ site in relation to neighbouring properties, roads and plots. The plans are available in monochrome or full colour and are produced, in the case of A4, as a six-copy pack. More often than not local authorities stipulate the required scale on their literature but here are some general guidelines:
- If your property is in a city or town you will usually require 1:1250 scale.
- If your property or site is in the countryside you will usually require 1:2500 scale.
- If you are also applying for building regulations you may also be asked for a set at 1:500 scale. These are often referred to as block plans.
OS Sitemap can also be used for insurance claims, conveyancing, home referencing, presentations and reports.
