Apprenticeships must work for both employers and young people
Responding to the Nuffield Review on apprenticeships, which was published today
David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, said:
"Reviving apprenticeships is only going to work if they are known to be rigorous and high quality. They've got to work for the employer and the young person. Currently too many do not offer what employers need, there isn't enough support for small employers to take on an apprentice, and apprenticeships are seen as something for other people's teenagers."
