St. Leger Homes
St Leger Homes is a modern organisation tasked with managing Doncaster’s 21,000 council homes and carrying out a huge investment programme that will radically improve the quality of homes for our customers.
We are an Arm’s Length Management Organisation, or 'ALMO', created by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council under a Government initiative to transform the quality of council homes over the next coming years.
The Government is providing new organisations like ours with extra support to invest hundreds of millions of pounds in its Decency Programme. This money would not otherwise be available to Councils and we are planning to spend £300 million – representing the biggest upgrading ever to council homes in Doncaster.
St Leger Homes has now been successful in obtaining its 'two star' rating and will be developing the Decency Programme to ensure all our properties meet the Decent Homes Standard. St Leger Homes is a non-profit making organisation wholly owned by Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council but we have our own board of directors that makes decisions totally independently of the Council.
We have over 700 staff dedicated to bringing about enormous progress and of fulfilling our mission to create 'Quality Homes in Quality Neighbourhoods'.
