ARE YOU A FRIEND OF THORNE BREWERY?
A new group has been launched for people who want to own part of a brewery. The Friends of Thorne Brewery has been set up to enable supporters of the new community brewery to help it develop. One of the benefits of joining is the option to buy a share in the brewery, and get paid dividends in beer.
The Thorne Brewery Community Interest Company has been set up as a social enterprise to bring brewing back to Thorne, South Yorkshire. The former brewery in the town operated for over 100 years. The social aims are to create jobs and training for local people, and to open a visitors centre to help develop tourism. To help finance the business and demonstrate community ownership, the brewery is offering shares with dividends being paid in beer. Joining the Friends of Thorne Brewery is the only way that an individual can purchase a share.
The Friends of Thorne Brewery will be officially launched at the Success Doncaster, Business Showcase event at the Doncaster Dome on Monday 17 November between 12pm and 8pm.
As the dividends will be paid annually this would make a unique and distinctive Christmas present. Remember “a beer is for life, not just for Christmas”. More details can be found at www.thornebrewery.com
