BONE MARROW DONORS NEEDED
Doncaster Chamber is urging businesses to join the Anthony Nolan bone marrow register. A recruitment session has been organised at the Doncaster Chamber office, on Monday 3rd November, in the hope of finding potential bone marrow donors for people with leukemia.
The Anthony Nolan Trust is the UK’s largest and most successful register with 390,000 people on the bone marrow register, but this is not enough. There are approximately 16,000 people worldwide currently requiring a donor as finding a match is extremely difficult.
Since 1974 the Anthony Nolan Trust has given over 5,000 patients a chance of life.
To join the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Register you need to be aged between 18 and 40, in good health, weigh over 8st, have a BMI of less than 35 and willing to help save the life of any patient in need of a transplant. The recruitment session will be taking place on Monday 3rd November 2008 from 10.00pm to 1.00pm at Doncaster Chamber, ICON, First Point, Balby Carr Bank, DN4 5JQ.
